From 1998 to 2014, through the calendar year in the quadrennial Wintertime Olympics, the NHL suspended its all-star match and expanded the standard all-star break to permit NHL gamers to engage in the Olympic ice hockey Match. In 2018, the NHL did not schedule an Olympic crack, causing their players not participating in that year's Olympic Event.[1
